Faculty Videos

Several faculty videos produced in 2008 as part of the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Faculty Career Flexibility highlight aspects of dual career/partner recruitment, work-life balance, and benefits of working at Duke. Please click on the names below to view each video.

Emily Bernhardt and Justin Wright (Natural Sciences) talk about how they both came to have tenure-track positions in the Biology Department, how they've also had two children since starting to work for Duke, and why they enjoy living in Durham.

Adriane Lentz-Smith and Christian Lentz (Humanities) explain why they are excited to prepare for parenthood in Durham and how Duke has made many possibilities tangible for them.

Terrie Moffitt and Avshalom Caspi (Social Sciences) reflect on the reasons they were attracted to positions at Duke -- coming from London, moving their labs and staff, as well as Avshalom's parents, to Durham for the better.
